Welsh Heritage Quilters - weekly meeting
6 January 2010 - 16 December 2012
The Welsh Heritage Quilters group was first formed in 1995 and has since grown in size to over 40 members. There is a wide range of experience and abilities amongst our members, from beginners to those with City and Guilds qualifications.
We meet every Wednesday afternoon in the Minerva Arts Centre in Llanidloes. Some weeks there are organised workshops or members will demonstrate a block or technique, on other weeks we get on with our own projects. Meeting as a group enables members to draw on the skills and expertise of others, and to share tips and ideas.
We have a biennial exhibition of our work in the Spring (the next one being in Spring 2010). As a group we agree on themes and challenges to encourage our displays.
As well as working towards our exhibition, and on our own projects, we also produce quilts for charities, for example - lap quilts for the local hospital, cot quilts for babies born in prison and quilts for the Linus project.
We are always open to visitors and indeed to welcome new members. If you would like to 'drop in' and have a chat or see what we are up to you are sure to be met with a warm welcome!
