City&Guilds graduates

Let me intoduce myself. I am Jeni and I have just completed the online C&G course and have taken this blog over from George. I hope to inform and entertain you as well as she did. She is a hard act to follow. Being new to this form of communication, bear with me while I work out the format.

About me РI arrived fairly late to patchwork, quilting and appliqu̩. I loved doing embroidery in my teens in the 1940s, being encouraged to do this by a lovely needlework teacher but then more practical dressmaking for first myself, then my daughter, nieces and nephews took over.

Ten years ago I joined the Welsh Heritage Quilters, then became a Quilt Association trustee, instrumental in obtaining the Ashley Family Foundation grant to set up our Education programme including the the City and Guilds online micro centre, here was an opportunity, I enrolled and 2 years later I have achieved level 2 in Patchwork and Applique. Hopefully I will learn how to upload photos soon so I can show you us receiving our certificates!

On second thoughts, you can see the photo of Heather and me being handed our certificates by looking at the News item on the homepage.
